Research Programme

CCKF’s R&D laboratory is actively engaged in a number of research projects. Working with colleagues from across Europe we are examining how Human Factors can be better accommodated by cognitively aware online systems.  We have explored how differing psychological profiling techniques can be used to indicate varying levels of cognitive loading. Using this research we have examined a number of differing navigational and learning approaches.

The R&D Laboratory is also particularly interested in a number of other related fields. These include:

  • Behavioural Modelling – Research and development of an interface level interactivity metric.
  • Personalised Feedback – Development of an intelligent (responsive) feedback approach.
  • Cognitive Overloading and Influencing - Exploration and determination  of protocols to facilitate novel content delivery strategies.
  • Profiling of learner – Exploration and determination of factors that affect learning.
  • Instructional Design: Constructivist (and future extension to collaborative) e-learning, exploration and determination of methods to create an effective adaptive learning module incorporating constructivist (and collaborative) methodologies.
